The Lake Host Program urgently needs your help.

Good morning, Lake Warren community,

We are reaching out a with an urgent call for volunteers.

What the Lake Host Program is facing —

• We are not currently positioned to meet our required match with NH Lakes

• We need more volunteers

• We need more donations directed to NH Lakes for our program

Threat of invasive weeds, and our position with NH Lakes —

We are surrounded by bodies of water already infested with invasive weeds and species, and we know boats are coming to Lake Warren from those waters.  Our Lake Host program is the first line of defense against aquatic invasive species entering our Lake, but we face a critical situation: volunteerism and donations to extend paid Lake Host positions are down significantly this year.

If we do not immediately increase our volunteer hours or donations, we risk failing to meet our required match. This will result in less ramp coverage, negatively affect our funding for next year, and may cause the Association to owe money to NH Lakes.

Here’s how you can help —

Six of your seven Board members have taken the lead and are now trained Lake Hosts. Training to become a Lake Host is quick and easy. Here’s how it works:

1. Train to be a Lake Host: Click here to watch the 1 hour Lake Host training video (this counts as one hour of volunteer time).

2. Register to Volunteer: Once trained, click here to register as a volunteer for our program (takes approximately 5 minutes). Availability and desired hours per week is NOT set in stone and can be changed after the fact.

3. Schedule Time to Volunteer: Once you have registered as a volunteer, please reach out to Julie via email and offer to volunteer for 2 hours a month (or more). If it's difficult to schedule volunteer hours, you can also provide drop-in coverage. Check in with Julie when you have availability, even if it's last minute, and she'll let you know if the ramp is already covered for not.

4. Donate to Our Program: If you do not wish to volunteer, please consider donating money to extend paid Lake Host coverage. Every little bit helps and 100% of your donation goes directly to our program.

The Lake Host program is the only proactive, preventative program our association runs.  All programs are valuable, but the Lake Host program is the only one that will stop invasive weeds and species from entering and ruining our lake.
