Lake Host

Coordinator: Julie Hogan juliefhogan@gmail.com

The Lake Host Program, offered through NH LAKES, plays a vital role in protecting New Hampshire's lakes and ponds from invasive aquatic species. Trained Lake Hosts educate boaters and recreational users, conduct courtesy watercraft inspections, and help prevent the spread of harmful invasive plants and animals between waterbodies.

Our Lake Host Program is supported in part through grants administered by NH LAKES. As a condition of these grants, local programs are required to provide matching funds through volunteer service hours, financial contributions, or a combination of both. Volunteer time is an essential component of meeting these match requirements and demonstrates the strong community commitment to lake protection.

Donations are always needed to help sustain and expand the program. Financial contributions support training, equipment, educational materials, and local program operations while helping us meet grant-matching obligations. Every volunteer hour and every donation directly contributes to preserving the health, beauty, and recreational value of our lakes for future generations.
